I’m Zhenwei

pronouced as jen-way

A young woman with long dark hair standing indoors, with a large painting behind her and a few other people blurred in the background.

I grew up in Dalian, or Port Arthur in history books. On a street called Russian Cultural Street.

I moved to Southern California in 2015. Picked up English in a year.

Then Stanford, where I studied a mixture of international security, philosophy, history, and tech ethics, mostly focused on U.S.-China relations.

Briefly in New York, Oxford, and D.C.

And now, San Francisco. Still fascinated about culture, history, and techno-politics.

Currently… SF

  • I make technical collaborations and integration partnerships happen at Cerebras.

    • I build technical cookbooks, lead integration co-marketing, organize 1000+ attendee events and hackathons, manage $40K+ event budgets, and write to dymistify wafer-scale hardware (Cerebras children’s book coming soon!).

    • Thinking a lot about the hardware lottery.

  • I volunteer at the Asia Society on Track II dialogues focused on anything APAC security.

  • I support current Mayfield Fellows and CISAC Honors students as a proud alum.

  • Outside of work, I host friends for monthly home-made dinners, practice Vinyasa yoga, and read at Farley’s (aka the best coffeeshop).

Previously… Stanford, LA, NYC, Oxford, D.C.

And along the way,

  • Red-teamed and wrote safety guidelines for AI platform risks with Meta Superintelligence Labs’ Product Policy team.

  • Think-ed and tank-ed about digital public infrastructure at the Atlantic Council.

  • Cold emailed into international arbitration work, wrote about UN AI guidelines, and worked on oil and gas disputes in Kazakhstan and Olympic rowing doping arbitration.

  • Researched PLA military strategy for Upstart: How China Became a Great Power.

  • Drafted memos and legislative language for SB 923 Delete Act with Senator Josh Becker.

  • Paralegal-ed at the LA Public Defender’s Office and worked on cases ranging from misdemeanors and assault to violations of California Penal Code §288.

  • Canvassed for the Tiburon Fire District election (knocked on doors and got doors shut in my face).
